People across Bolsover are set to benefit from a new partnership between Community Interest Company Shift and Lloyds Bank Foundation.
The work comes as part of Lloyds Bank Foundation’s People and Communities initiative covering six communities around the UK.
It aims to overcome the challenges facing some local communities thanks to increased need, austerity and the need to collaborate in tough and challenging conditions when many organisations are over-stretched.
Partners will join forces to see how they can work together to get to a better place for everyone – with sustainable services available for those who need them.
Work has already started in Bolsover district with local partners from the VCFSE, public and private sectors coming together through online workshops in early 2021. The new partnership with Shift will give things a fresh impetus as covid restrictions are removed.
Some of the things this aims to achieve are strengthened local relationships, new ways of working, shared power and community pride.
Thanks to local knowledge gained in Bolsover over the past few years through their Active 4 Life initiative, Shift will bring key experience in how to engage the community in this work.
Andrea Kemp, CEO at Shift said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Lloyds Bank Foundation on their work with People and Communities in Bolsover. Systems change is something we’ve talked about for a number of years so it’s exciting to be joining forces with an organisation whose aims and principles are similar to ours. We’re looking forward to the challenge which lies ahead.”
Victoria Burrows, Development Associate, Lloyds Bank Foundation said: “Harriet and I are delighted to be working with Shift and Nathan as our Local Implementation Lead. We are looking forward to gathering momentum on our system change work in the district and to being able to visit again now restrictions have lifted.”
